This week the prompt at Read Write Poem challenged poets to "see things from a fresh perspective" by writing sci-fi poetry. I was particularly intrigued by the idea of scifaiku. And it's not that I didn't take the prompt seriously; it's just my inspiration came from my own love of dogs and also seeing poems about dogs that Paisley and Clare had written recently. So here's my first attempt at scifaiku:If Dogs Ruled Earth
Humans at other
end of the leash in bone-strewn
world full of hydrants.

Great way of thinking about this! Have you read the Revenant by Billy Collins? He writes from a dog's point of view.

how insignificant we look at the end of that leash compared to the bones and the hydrant! (i practice ego-centric dog parenting where i assume i'm the center of the world for my pups. oh that it were true!)

I like it....my poem was a dog poem as well....did not read this before I wrote mine
..as an everyday sorta dog walker... i had to laugh at the thought of the other way around.. what would she .. my dog.. say to me if she ever had the opportunity...
it's almost like looking the "wrong" way through a telescope!
Hilarious! A couple weeks ago, before going out for a ride, I wrote a few verses of "biku".
