What do you do...

...when you're at the grocery store and your kids start yelling and hitting each other because someone stole someone else's imaginary ice cream? C'mon kids, figure it out--I mean, what is the point of imaginary ice cream if you can't imagine that yours is magically impervious to poaching (and of course, freezer burn)?

It was tempting to leave them there, in the dairy aisle, to duke it out.

So tempting.

Just wait until they start getting mad at the imaginary friend. Riska was in her room the other day yelling for no reason. Apparently Rigga (imaginary friend) had been hitting her and wouldn't stop when she asked. Kids.

That is awesome. I would waver between 1. Also in favour of leaving them there to duke it out. 2. Join in. Take away all the imaginary ice cream and give them imaginary creamed spinach instead, or dump the imaginary ice cream on their heads.

Kristin, I like the way you think!

This is still cracking me up, days later. My mother, provoked to her limit, was often reduced to shouting "NOBODY gets the cereal prize/front seat/last popsicle! I get the (whatever)!" But I don't think she ever had to do it over an imaginary item.
